A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015
16 weeks old – two hands

These two busy hands spend their days either in your mouth or exploring the world. Now that you have better control of them you reach out to grab anything within your reach and look up at me so pleased with yourself when you manage to grasp on. I love watching you examine each object with care. You are learning and growing so quickly and I am simultaneously thrilled to witness each development and sad to leave each stage behind.

This week has been another hot one but we've gotten out and about most days and you've had plenty of chances to interact with other babies. You don't smile or talk to them yet but watch on with curiosity, especially when older babies are showing off skills you haven't yet mastered. However for the first time this week, when your friend Frankie, ventured over to say hello, you reached out purposefully with your feet to feel her. The four month gap between you seems huge at the moment but it will quickly close and I can't wait until you two can interact more fully.
